Common water treatment filter bag material classification
Filter bags have a wide range of applications and are used in pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, automobile manufacturing, paints, coatings, adhesives, food and beverages, electronic technology, water treatment, metal processing and other industries. In water treatment, our commonly used filter bags are roughly divided into:
①PET (polyester) fiber filter bag;
②Polypropylene (PP) fiber/PP microfiber filter bag;
③Nylon single fiber filter bag
④Unique high temperature resistant polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) filter bags, etc.
Today I will briefly introduce these types of filter bags:
- 1.The nylon filter bag is made of high-strength nylon woven mesh. The advantage of nylon filter material is that it can be cleaned repeatedly and has low cost. However, it is easy to get clogged as a surface filtration mode, so it is suitable for coarse filtration sites with low precision.
- 2.PP filter bag is made of polypropylene fiber filter cloth. PP filter material is a deep type filter material with excellent chemical resistance, high flow rate, low resistance, no pollution and long service life. Therefore, it is widely used in industry and is economical.
- 3.PE filter bags are made of polyester fiber filter cloth. The fiber tissue is loose, thereby increasing the holding capacity of impurities; this product has a compound interception mode, which can effectively remove solid and soft particles.
- 4.PET filter bags are made of polyethylene terephthalate, a high polymer. It is a milky white or light yellow, highly crystalline polymer with a smooth and shiny surface. PET filter material is also a deep-type filter bag with excellent chemical resistance and solvent resistance. Especially for solvent-based fluids, it also has excellent corrosion resistance. PET and PP fibers are similar, but PET can withstand higher working temperature environment (160℃).
- 5.PTFE filter bag is a polytetrafluoroethylene filter bag, also known as Teflon (Teflon), which is one of the most high-end varieties of bag filter materials. This filter bag can withstand acid and alkali erosion in the entire PH value range under continuous operating temperature of 240°C and instantaneous temperature of 260°C.
The diameter of the microporous filter material of the filter bag cannot be accurately measured. How to determine the precision?
Answer: The surface filter screen material can accurately measure the diameter value obtained at the same time, which is the precision of the filtration system. The microporous filtration material of the filter bag cannot determine the exact value, so the traditional calibration method is to calibrate a material with corresponding weight, thickness and permeability to the rated accuracy. Each raw material dealer has different specifications, but every raw material should have strict industrial production characteristics and complete data testing. Therefore, when the liquid filter bag brought by your liquid filter bag dealer is calibrated to 5um, the precision is only the relative filtration precision and does not mean that the diameter of the liquid filter bag is 5um.
The standard precision is the same, but why are the filtering results different?
Answer: In fact, strictly speaking, standard precision is just the name precision of raw materials. Unlike precision in the real practical sense, it only serves as a reference for grade classification. When selecting liquid filter bags, everyone should understand the filtration efficiency under standard precision. This is also extremely important and ignored by most customers. Therefore, the filtration efficiency of materials with the same name of 1um may be quite different. Of course, the application effects are also quite different.
My liquid filter bag cycle is short, why is the precision different?
Answer: Everyone should understand that the service life of the filtration system is closely related to the breathability of the material. If the breathability of the material is low, the initial pressure difference used by the liquid filter bag is smaller and the working pressure is slower. Of course, the service life of the liquid filter bag is longer, and vice versa. In addition, the processing technology of surface treatment will also directly affect the service life of liquid filter bags. Liquid felt is a rigorous surface calendering process. If too much pursuit of perfect surface smoothness occurs, melted chemical fibers will block the filtration channel, which will naturally reduce the utilization of the solution, increase the loss of the filtration system, and ultimately shorten the service life of the filter bag. Therefore, the smooth appearance of the fabric does not necessarily mean that the application function of the fabric will be very good.
