Composition of filter press

The filter press is mainly composed of main frame, filter plate, filter cloth, water nozzle, electric control cabinet, hydraulic station and other components.

The filter plate is a component used in the filtration process, and its function is to form the filter medium. Filter plates are usually made of materials such as polypropylene or polyethylene and are square, rectangular, or round in shape. They are acid-resistant, alkali-resistant, high-temperature resistant, and wear-resistant.

During the filtration process, the filter plates are placed on both sides of the filter press. The liquid or suspension flows in from the feed hole of the filter plate, and the solid particles are trapped on the filter cloth, thereby achieving the filtration effect.

At the same time, the number and size of filter plates also directly determine the filtration area and filtration capacity of the filter press. A piece of filter plate forms a tightly closed filter chamber. The filter plate divides the filter chamber into filter chambers. The filter cloth is attached to the filter plate. Increasing the wall of the filter chamber increases the effective area and achieves the purpose of increasing filtration efficiency.

Both sides of the filter plate of the filter press are concave. When the two filter plates are put together, the middle space formed is used to store the filter residue intercepted by the filter cloth.

What material is the filter plate of the filter press made of?

In fact, the most commonly used material is reinforced polypropylene. Since each material has different wear resistance, high pressure resistance, tensile strength, and sealing properties, it is suitable for different industries. Generally, there are the following types:

  1. PP material filter plate (polypropylene plastic)

 

PP is currently the most commonly used, which is polymer polypropylene. This material has very good resistance to various acids and alkalis, including hydrofluoric acid. For materials whose working temperature range is controlled below 70°, if the temperature is higher, a thickened filter plate or other material filter plate needs to be customized.

  1. PVDF material filter plate

 

PVDF is the organic material with the best acid resistance and temperature resistance. Its normal temperature resistance can reach about 150°, but its alkali resistance is extremely poor. 

 

  1. Aluminum filter plate

 

Aluminum filter plates are the lightest among all metal filter plates, but are relatively less resistant to acid.

 

  1. Natural rubber filter plate

 

It is good to use natural rubber filter plates, especially for diaphragm filter presses, which have good elasticity but poor strength.

 

  1. Stainless steel filter plate

 

The usage rate of stainless steel in various industries is quite high. As a filter plate material, it is relatively acid and alkali resistant, and the price is relatively high among all filter plates. After all, the material itself is expensive and requires processing, which is time-consuming and time-consuming. Artificial.

 

  1. Cast iron filter plate

 

It is heavy in weight, has poor acid resistance, and has high temperature resistance. However, the sealing surface must be made of organic materials, so there are certain limitations in production. Therefore, the usage rate of this type of special filter plate is not high.
